Parkland College, Champaign, IL

installed June 2015

Commissioned by the State of Illinois Art in Architecture Program for the Applied Technology Center at Parkland College.

This installation maps where the students of Parkland College come from. Each of the segments of the structure represents one of the 12 counties that make up the school's district, as well as the approximate location of that county. The wood slats and the shadows they make indicate the population density of each county. These shadows weave together on the wall forming an abstract representation of the college community.
